Collaborative Law in Divorce

by Scott on May 24, 2010

Here is an interesting post I came across on the subject of collaborative divorce. The main idea behind collaborative divorce is to resolve the divorce case by mutual agreement and minimize the animosity inherent in the process. This is an especially important sentiment in those cases involving children. After all, you are going to be connected to this person as a co-parent for many years to come.

The post is actually on a Cincinnati divorce website, although the principles would apply to just about any jurisdiction. Even in those states that don’t have a formal statute addressing collaborative law you can see how an attorney to represent you who’s philosophy is that it is better to resolve the divorce by agreement.

If you’re interested in the process of collaborative divorce please check out that post.
